Yeni martinez flores
Yeni Martinez Flores is an educator who has served as a Spanish Language Arts teacher in one of the poorest congressional districts in the country supporting the immigrant population in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the South Bronx. One of the driving forces that motivated her to work in the South Bronx was because many of her students’ stories reflect her own story growing up as a little girl she saw the struggle and the hardship that her parents had to overcome to provide her a better education and future. Being an immigrant herself and working as a teacher has empowered her to continue pursuing a second Master’s degree because she believes that education is the key to a better future and endless possibilities. As an educator for almost seven years, she has found that her determination and commitment to teaching has only flourished with every year. With a Master of Science in Spanish Education and a Master of Science in the Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages she hopes to continue teaching and helping children reach their fullest potential.
